Alizay joined the criminal defense department as a paralegal in 2023. She graduated from Rice University in 2023 with a B.A. in Social Policy Analysis & Political Science and a certificate in civic leadership. While at Rice, Alizay interned with the Southern District of Texas and ACLU Texas, captained her college’s mock trial team, organized with Students for Justice in Palestine, and conducted research in several different policy areas, including criminal justice reform. Passionate about social justice work through organizing, policy research, and legal advocacy, Alizay aims to attend law school and practice public interest law. As a criminal defense paralegal for MLFA, Alizay hopes to tangibly contribute to protecting her community against unjust prosecutions and discriminatory practices.
