Episode 1 – Journey to Awareness

Think of a time you felt unsteady as a Muslim in the United States. Maybe you were in school when someone made a terrorist joke. Maybe your dad had trouble with his business because of Islamophobia. Maybe you lost that job for “cultural differences”, but you feel like it was more than that. Maybe you held your breath in line at the airport. The Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) started after September 11, 2001, to defend Muslims against scapegoating and demonization from a government feeling helpless to defend against international terrorism. September 11th was a long time ago, but the legacy of those politics continues to spread fear and distrust in our lives. MLFA is here to stand up for you and yours. We’re here to show courage in the face of formidable opponents. We’re fighting for justice instead of giving into fear. Join us on our sacred journey to advance equality and justice for Muslims in America, in our courtrooms and communities.
