Shereen El Domeiri, Esq

Ms. El Domeiri is an attorney practicing in Dallas for over 15 years with a strong and varied background in civil litigation.

Shereen is Of Counsel at Saraiya Attorneys PLLC. She advise small businesses on commercial transactions, technology, privacy, corporate compliance, as well as litigation matters. Previously, Shereen was Associate General Counsel of ORIX USA.  As Associate General Counsel she engaged in daily strategizing and management of ORIX USA’s complex litigation portfolio and managed and supervised outside counsel on a variety of litigation matters including employment, real estate, and contract disputes.

In addition to her duties at Saraiya Attorneys PLLC Shereen is also an Associate Judge (Hearing Officer) for the City of Dallas presiding over civil administrative hearings relating to property and premises violations in the City of Dallas’ Civil Adjudication Court.  Before joining ORIX USA Shereen was a Municipal Judge for the City of Dallas presiding over class C misdemeanor cases, conducting trials, hearings, and other pre-trial proceedings relating to cases pending before the Dallas Municipal Court and reviewed and executed search and arrest warrants.  Shereen also served as a magistrate for Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties.  She served as Assistant City Attorney practicing in the areas of bankruptcy and civil litigation.  In addition to her work for the city and surrounding counties Shereen was also an attorney for the Federal Trade Commission, Southwest Region practicing in the area of consumer protection.  Upon graduation from law school Shereen joined a private practice representing individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.  She also represented consumers in lawsuits against creditors.

Shereen is active in many professional associations.  She is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Dallas Bar Associations’s Morris Harrell Professionalism Committee and Foundation Fellow of Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.  She served as DAYL Equal Access to Justice Committee Co-chair 2005-2010, Advisory Board Member of DAYL’s Spanish Public Service Announcement Project 2009, Patrick Higginbotham American Inn of Court Associate 2007-2008, and received the DBA’s Outstanding New Pro Bono Attorney Award in 2003.  Additionally, Shereen serves as a mentor to young lawyers through the DBA’s Transition to Law Practice Program and to law students at the University of North Texas Law School.

El Domeiri earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and received her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law.  While at SMU she was Managing Editor of The International Lawyer, a member of International Law Review Association, and participated in Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition.  Shereen was also a Howie & Sweeney Advanced Appellate Moot Court Competition Semifinalist and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
