Catherine McDonald

Training and Development Manager

Catherine McDonald has been practicing criminal law since she graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 1994.  She was a state public defender for over 15 years, handling a high volume criminal case load.  In 2009 she transitioned into private practice, handling both criminal and family law cases.  In 2014, she moved to Texas where, she became the Managing Attorney for the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America (“CLCMA”).  In this role she was in the CLCMA Criminal Division, as well as managing the CLCMA office, reviewing the initial case intakes at CLCMA, and supervising the Research Fellows and Legal Interns at our law center. As the Managing Attorney she was often the first point of legal contact for most clients seeking assistance from our law center. Her organizational ability allowed for the smooth running of the law center, ensuring that each individual’s needs are dealt with appropriately and effectively.  In 2023 she moved to the role of Training and Development Manager with the Muslim Legal Fund of America (“MLFA”).  She now is responsible for working with the MLFA development team, promoting the MLFA brand, as well as coordinating internal and outward facing trainings to the community and the public.
