Dallas – June 27, 2014 – After several years of litigation and advocacy, United States District Judge Anthony J. Trenga signed the order dismissing the indictment against Dr. Sami Al-Arian today.
In a statement to supporters, MLFA Executive Director Khalil Meek said:
Many organizations and activists supported Dr. Al-Arian throughout his incredible ordeal, and I am honored to include MLFA and its supporters among this group. I humbly thank you, our supporters, for everything you do to “stand out firmly for justice.” I also want to also extend my deepest appreciation to attorney Jonathan Turley, who has represented Dr. Al-Arian for the past eight years.
