In the face of Bill 9495—a measure that poses a serious threat to the stability of countless Muslim nonprofit organizations—we are doubling down on our commitment to safeguard Muslim nonprofits by expanding and fortifying MLFA’s Federal Nonprofit Governance Fund.
This fund provides Muslim nonprofits with our expert-led Governance-Risk-Compliance (GRC) screenings, bylaws reviews, and legal clinics designed to bolster integrity and reduce unwarranted scrutiny. It also offers training—via Continuing Learning Education (CLE) courses, webinars, and workshops—that promotes ethical decision-making, transparency, and equitable participation.

In line with the Qur’anic provision, our work is recognized as being “for Allah’s cause,” as it safeguards the dignity and well-being of the Muslim community. Through our top-tier expert pro bono legal defense and protection, we uphold justice—a core Islamic value.
Rest assured your gift is exclusively allocated where every zakat contribution is used responsibly to advance our core initiatives: providing expert legal defense in high-stakes federal criminal, civil, and immigration cases. The MLFA Justice Fund is our unrestricted resource, fueling the breadth of our mission to defend Muslim Americans and uphold their constitutional rights at the highest level of law in the land. Because these funds aren’t tied to a single program, they give us the strength and flexibility to respond where we’re needed most—whether it’s countering Islamophobia in the courtroom, navigating an unfriendly Congress, or challenging a legal system that too often dismisses critical issues under the guise of “national security.”
