KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. — Brandon Ludwig, a fourth-generation resident of the small northeast Florida city and current chairman of the Florida Young Republicans, was sworn in Tuesday to fill Seat 5 on the Keystone Heights City Council during a special meeting.
Ludwig, who described himself as proud to join the council and serve “some of the best people you’ll ever meet,” called on the community to “get to work” in a statement shared by the City of Keystone Heights official social media account.
“As a fourth-generation resident of Keystone, I’m incredibly proud to be joining City Council to serve some of the best people you’ll ever meet. Let’s get to work!” Ludwig said.
The swearing-in occurred at the special City Council session, according to the post from the City of Keystone Heights.
Ludwig, a University of North Florida graduate, has deep roots in the community and extensive experience in Republican politics. He has served as state chairman of the Florida Young Republicans since 2023, previously holding roles as the organization’s executive director and Clay County chapter chairman.
His political background includes work on U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack’s 2020 congressional campaign, more than 30 local elections and service on the Clay County Board of Adjustment.
The announcement of Ludwig’s swearing-in highlighted his generational ties to the area, aligning with the city’s emphasis on community service and local engagement.
Keystone Heights, a city of about 1,500 residents in Clay County known for its lakes and rural character, operates under a council-manager form of government with a mayor, vice mayor and three council members elected at large.
