Civil Litigation Staff Attorney Samira Elhosary will be presenting oral argument at the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday, May 20, on behalf of client Halil Demir. The Oral Argument

We brought this case on behalf of Mr. Demir, challenging the consistent and invasive security screening he endures each time he travels, despite his decades of dedicated humanitarian work, and recognition by U.S. authorities and agencies. Instead of reviewing the case on the merits, the judge in the Northern District of Illinois found he lacked jurisdiction and dismissed the case. We appealed to the Seventh Circuit because the district court got it wrong, and we are asking the Seventh Circuit to reverse the decision and allow Mr. Demir’s case to proceed on the merits.
