MLFA X MUSLIM LENS BOOK CLUB MEET
MLFA is partnering with The Muslim Lens to host a women-only book club. Our first session will take place on February 6th at 6:00 PM in Plano, Texas.
This discussion will focus on Good Muslim, Bad Muslim: America, the Cold War, and the Roots of Terror by Mahmood Mamdani.
The purpose of this book club is to study Muslim history, current events, and culture to reestablish a sense of confidence within our heritage.
Guidelines:
– Be open to meeting new gals
– You’ll receive extra compliments if you decide to wear traditional clothing, but feel free to dress in whatever makes you most comfortable
– Keeping up with our current read is highly encouraged. if you have not completed the monthly reading, you are still encouraged to attend (it’s a chill structure, so no stress)
– Your perspective is valuable to the discussion, so be sure to share your reflections!
– Book reflections must be kept respectful. Failure to do so will result in removal from the group
