United States v. Imad Eddin Wadi

United States v. Imad Eddin Wadi

NEW UPDATE: MLFA’s Criminal Defense Department is currently working on appealing Mr. Wadi’s convictions to the Fifth Circuit in hopes of correcting the grave injustice inflicted upon Mr. Wadi and his family.

Verdict/Ruling:

Mr. Wadi faced a sentence of life in prison. At sentencing, MLFA’s Criminal Defense team highlighted the government’s entrapment of Mr. Wadi and showcased his character, dedication to his family and community service in San Antonio. The judge gave Mr. Wadi a sentence of 160 months—one of the lowest sentences in this country for Mr. Wadi’s convictions but 160 months too long for an innocent man.

IMPACT

Mr. Wadi’s case represents one the most outrageous operations by the FBI to create a Material Support of Terrorism case where none would have existed. His trial was rife with constitutional violations and his conviction highlights the prejudice Muslim Americans face in America’s courtrooms.
