We are honored to announce the recipient of the 2024 Tarek Al Kadri Social Justice Leadership Scholarship, established in memory of one of our beloved founders who dedicated his life to educate, protect and defend. This scholarship, sponsored by the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA), empowers the next generation of leaders who are committed to standing up for social justice and defending the rights of Muslim Americans.
This year’s recipient, Kosar, is a remarkable individual whose academic achievements, dedication to advocacy, and unwavering commitment to human rights truly embody the spirit of this scholarship. Kosar is currently a J.D. Candidate at Yale Law School, where he is focusing on International Human Rights Law—a field that aligns perfectly with his passion for promoting justice on a global scale.
Kosar’s journey to Yale was marked by his outstanding academic performance at New York University, where he graduated in 2020 with a degree in Politics and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies. His deep understanding of these fields laid the groundwork for his subsequent work in advocacy and public policy. Following graduation, Kosar worked tirelessly at the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition and the National Partnership for New Americans’ We Are All America campaign.
Looking ahead, Kosar is determined to utilize international law, strategic litigation, and accountability mechanisms to influence public policy both in the United States and abroad. His vision is to create a world where justice is not just an ideal, but a lived reality for all people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
